Abstract

Migration constitute a key event in the life of people and can offer new opportunities to transform gender roles and relationships. However, migration can also reinforce traditional roles and inequalities and expose women to new vulnerabilities as a result of the precarious legal status, exclusion and isolation. However, the incorporation of women into the labor market, the result of migration, allowing them to renegotiate the unequal gender roles and their entry into the public sphere facilitates greater personal and social development so that migration can suppose an opportunity for women to gain confidence and value their work.
