Abstract

This paper describes and examines the emergence of ethnic-based initiatives in Argentinean higher education during the last decade. Based on a critical literature review, some of the current challenges of the inclusion policies for young indigenous people in university are discussed. Key points for analysing cultural diversity programs are proposed from an anthropological perspective, taking into account that those programs are implemented in political and institutional contexts with a scarce experience in the valorization of cultural and linguistic diversity.
