The reflexive teacher in Metro line 743
Keywords:

This text aims to discuss the relevance of the critical-reflexive teacher approach to teachers’ education, also pointing out the difficulties in its implementation in the dimension of professional practice. From the viewpoint of its structure and argumentative support, the text exposes some aspects of the Brazilian reality, especially from the social and political field, considering that conservative movements, combined with the increase of a neotechnicalist approach to education, have led to the impossibility of carrying out a critical-reflexive proposition with respect to the work of teachers. The text closes with the metaphor of the song “Metrô linha 743”, from Brazilian composer and singer Raul Seixas, pointing to a society in which reflection and critical thinking no longer fit.
