Meeting of originary peoples

Abstract

This review presents the experience of the “Meeting of Originary Peoples”, which occurred in the city of Tartagal, province of Salta, in April 2017. This event had a characteristic structure in that it was organised jointly by the Secretary of University Extension of the National University of Salta, the Union of the Peoples of the Salta Diaguita Nation and the CEUPO – Community of University Students from Originary Peoples, within the celebrations of the 19th of April as the American Indian Day. It provided a space where the presentations focused on the Guidelines and Authorities of Peoples and their Indigenous Organisations. The issues under discussion promoted the debate and the continuity and strengthening of actions that have began, and specific messages targeting different state bodies with competence in these matters were elaborated. Future action plans were drawn convening the university and the Peoples and their organisations.
