Abstract

The productive systems that are reproduced on a local scale, within the Gran Chaco region, allow us to recognise in the strategies of small producers, the generation of sustainable modes of socio-economic production and also of socio-cultural reproduction on a territory that is understood as a complex social construction and of diverse elements. In this sense, looking at the local scale allows us to see the continuity of a territorialised existence, material and immaterial, based on tools and knowledge, which make possible a space with elements of sustainability. This work, based on a study of the production systems of small producers, aims to characterise the elements of sustainability. To this end, we worked from a geography of location and of perception and behaviour, in stages of exploration and search for information, analysis of the relationships that make up the production systems, and synthesis and identification of possible features of sustainability.
