Abstract

Women continue to suffer inequality and discrimination in our country in many social spheres; however, in contexts at risk of social exclusion, inequalities between men and women are even more notable. This group covers a wide range of possibilities, among which this study focuses on women of the Roma community. The general objective of this research is to construct an outline of the social situation of Roma women, through a brief analysis of the current situation and public policies on the matter, all within the framework of a research project entitled: “Explore with me where we live” subsidized by the COTEC foundation for innovation. The aim of this paper is to systematize the difficulties experienced by these women, based on the analysis of two large subjects, labor and economic discrimination, and social and educational discrimination.
