This article presents the first research advances on the practice of training in Environmental Education, with distance mode, implemented by the School for Educational Innovation, of the National University of Santiago del Estero. In the introduction, the postgraduate experience is contextualized and the genesis of Environmental Education in Argentina’s teacher education is narrated. The theoretical-methodological approach is presented in the first section. In the second, the findings are systematized in two directions of analysis: (i) on the proposal in general and (ii) on its first training section. Among the dimensions analyzed are the curriculum structure, the profiles of teachers and students, expectations, the degree of satisfaction, among others. The information was constructed based on three sources: institutional documents, virtual classrooms and surveys carried out among the students of the first cycle of the Higher Diploma in Education and Latin American Environmental Thought.
