Abstract

The following review presents the discussions around the thematic summit of “Indigenous Youth in Higher Education in Latin America”, which was held at the Third International Congress of Indigenous Peoples of Latin America (3rd CIPIAL), from July 3rd to 5th, 2019 at the University of Brasilia (UnB). The event brought together indigenous and non-indigenous activists, leaders, students, professors and researchers from different countries and fields of knowledge. It seeks to emphasize the debates that have arisen, restoring the relevance of the exchange, comparison and contrast of experiences located in different national and regional contexts of teaching, research and action (such as Argentina, Brazil and Mexico). It is important to reflect the consolidation of this space of dialogue, in which initiatives, proposals and analysis involving the meanings of higher education oriented towards indigenous youth, some of its limits and possibilities are developed.
