Resilience, resilient practices of sick adults of Guillain-Barré Syndrome in the city of Guadalajara

Abstract

Nowadays exists an increase about studies of resilience practices in the adult population affected by Gullain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), the importance of this constructor as a factor of protection for physical and mental health. The GBS is the second cause of mortality by communicable diseases in the world and is constituted as a priority disease in the public health of Mexico. The purpose of this paper is to show that resilience practices are protective factors in patients with GBS. The method is qualitative, descriptive and interpretive, focused ethnography, the deep interview technique was used and 19 people participated. For the analysis, it was taken as a reference the Leininger proposal. In the results it was found a variety of resilience practices around the GBS, that family and patients carry out throughout experiences looking to face the adversity, achieve their recovery and the quality of their life.
