Schools front the cultural diversity. Comparison between Spain and Argentina

The school centers reflect the cultural diversity present in today's societies. This fact require reflection on educational models of managing cultural diversity, as well as educational policies that constitute a framework for action for interventions in this area. Also, the contexts influencein in the conceptions about cultural diversity, so that different realities set the trends about intercultural models and reflect the priorities at the political level. In this sense, Spain and Argentina constitute realities marked by the diversity of cultural origin, which is located, between other areas, in schools. In both contexts, exist differences in the connotations associated with its conception of cultural diversity. While in Spain, this plurality is closely linked the migratory phenomenon, in Argentina found a huge connection with the presence of indigenous or native population. This paper makes a tour of the main aspects that shape models attention to the cultural diversity, as main orientations of educational laws that respond to the socioeducational demands of both realities, to get an overview about of cultural diversity in schools in Spain and Argentina.
