Abstract

The professional qualification programmes are under substantial revision, as a result of the ministerial requirement to include a field of training in professional practices that shall cut across and become the axis of articulation of the other curricular spaces. On the other hand, this is not only a local requirement but also an international trend, and while we do not exclude its possible relation with needs that the market is trying to explore, it is based on a body of research signalling the limitations of traditional teaching models and proposing curricular programmes centred on the training of critical and reflexive professionals, committed with the resolution of social and natural problems that call for informed intervention. In this article we will analyse the limitations of the predominant models, what are the new approaches based on and what do they propose; finally, we outline some challenges to be solved.
