A classroom for social justice
Keywords:
students’ voice, educational inclusion, classroom, social justiceAbstract
When we speak about the classroom, we think of a space that is favourable to the development of equality, social justice and educational inclusion. Definitely, as an open, interactive and multi-directional ecosystem contributing for the construction of an education that understands diversity as an opportunity. It is about taking human rights, and therefore children’s rights, as fundamental axes for the elimination of all forms of exclusion, marginalization and discrimination in the classroom, in collaboration with the other educational institutions. In this article, we expose the concept of classroom in a post-modern society based on social justice – a society in turn understood through the concepts of educational inclusion and participation. We reflect upon these elements with the aim of creating a space that tries to address students’ heterogeneity in a democratic and egalitarian context.
