Communication/education and territoriality. Subjectivity shaping on young wichi indigenous people
Keywords:
communication / education, territoriality, subjectivity, indigenous youthsAbstract
This paper asks, from the field of communication/education, how it’s formed the subjectivity of the Wichí youth of the Salta basin of the Pilcomayo River (Argentina). It focuses on how the territory, it’s experience of it, and the discourses and actors contribute to this formation process. The methodology is part of qualitative and ethnographic research. In-depth interviews with young people from the Wichí communities of the Chaco Salteño, interviews with leaders of these communities, observations, and records in a logbook were used for data collection. The perceptions of these young people on the territorial conflict faced by their communities are analyzed from the concepts of interpellation, recognition, and territoriality. Likewise, it is postulated that there exists in the communities a complex of interpellations directed to the subjects, a complex that consists of the coexistence of structures, discourses, practices, and collective experiences of the territory, conflicting with each other.
