Towards a new humanity: unsubmissive teachers, malungaje and interculturality
Keywords:
insubmissive pedagogies, muntú americano, radical interculturality, malungaje, teachers ombligadosAbstract
The tensions between the hegemonic education of the State and the educational and pedagogical processes emerging from different social, ethnic, popular and peasant sectors with their respective worldviews, is the central theme of this article. It takes up key elements in the discussion on unsubmissive pedagogies, interculturality and the role of teachers towards a new humanity. Malungaje is analyzed as a liberating strategy and as a primordial element in the political articulation that gives guidelines to understand radical interculturality. Following Zapata Olivella, the notion of Muntú Americano is analyzed as a broadening of perceptions of the human. Reference is made to committed teachers in terms of insubmissive and ombligados. A large part of these reflections have emerged from the dialogue with teachers in the department of Cauca-Colombia. The aim is to open spaces to show epistemic constructions with a popular education, ethno-education and rural education seal.
