Care and encounter on the platform: Explore with me where we live

Abstract

One of the main purposes of the school must be to help students to explore the territory in which they live and to recognize themselves as subjects with capacity for action and decision on it. This is the objective of the research-action project entitled “Explore with me where we live”, focused on the neighborhood of El Cabanyal (València, Spain), financed by the COTEC Foundation for Innovation, and promoted by a researcher group from the University of Valencia. In this paper we address the experience of one of the participating schools, located in the town of Alginet. Specifically, we investigate the creation of care and meeting spaces between students from apparently distant realities from a digital platform that manages to become an articulator of community and identity. The results point to the generation of educational experiences based on the participatory curricular conception and the co-generation of knowledge.
