Abstract

The education and political formation of Zapatista families have become pillars of autonomy and of the struggle against counterinsurgency. Through the revision of the True Education Project called in Tseltal Te’melel p’ijubtesel and the political/pedagogical/ decolonial process of the rebel movement, the philosophical and educational principles of Zapatismo, the challenges, the school strategies and their appropriation in the classroom are analysed. The aim is to understand the transformations that communities, gender roles and intergenerational relations have undergone as a result of the participation of adolescents and young people in community positions as promoters of education and health, encouraging academic and organisational knowledge in their communities.
