Cultural citizenship: a theoretical-methodological proposal

This article aims at the theoretical, historical and ontological revision of the concept of citizenship, in order to develop a theoretical-methodological proposal focused on cultural citizenship. These reflections fit into the Grounded Theory from communication studies. The theme leads to reflect on the classic dimensions of rights-centered citizenship, along with key concepts such as democracy, politics, participation and public space. A synthesis of analytical model is also presented, according of the constant comparative method. Technical secondary education in the city of Olavarría (Buenos Aires, Argentina) is the case of from which the problematic relationship citizenship/ technology is investigated, within the framework of the Conectar Igualdad Program (2010-2015). Some conclusions are offered form the analysis of cross-links involved in the construction of citizenship, among young schoolchildren and in relation to their interactive experiences.
