Student permanence and gender at the university
Keywords:
student permanence, gender, university, androcentrism, violenceAbstract
This work problematizes the sexed dimension of the institutions and devices that the National University of San Martín created to modify the inequalities and gender violence present in their community. The Directorate for Gender and Sexual Diversity (DGyDS) is the area that addresses this problem and innovatively proposes taking student permanence as one of the dimensions in which gender inequalities are reflected. From a quantitative-qualitative methodology (which takes legislation and regulations, statistics carried out by UNSAM and archive of cases of violence registered by the DGyDS), this work seeks to reflect on policies for addressing and preventing gender-based violence (cis women, trans women , transvestites and lesbians) as fundamental dimensions of a policy of student permanence, considering the indicators that could reflect the androcentrism of the university space, the complexity of trying to reverse this panorama and the consequences on the academic trajectories of the students.
